Connect Texts to Other Content

In the real world, learning never happens in isolation. In school, we can mimic this by breaking down some of the walls between content areas. If you teach a reading or language arts class, you can find connections to all sorts of other content areas. Asking questions that require students to build these connections deepens their learning, both with the text at hand, as well as with the content.
