Cold Call vs Warm Call

A warm call is a cold call in disguise. This happens when we circulate around the classroom, taking note of students with exemplar answers or common misconceptions. Then we can pretend to "cold call" them to bring up the answer in class. This is a great way to help all students feel accountable, yet ensure that the answer being shared with the whole class is the answer that you are looking for. Try disguising some of your cold calls with warm calls to bring more students and exemplar answers into the environment.
