Student Age and Attention Span

Understanding the development of our students' brains is critical for maximizing their learning. The science is clear; the older the brain, the longer it can focus. Classroom effectiveness can reach new levels when we plan our lessons based on our students' attention span. We know that classroom activities should not be longer than 10 minutes, but often students in lower grades need even quicker segments of practice before losing focus.
