Giving Consequences

Giving consequences is never the desired outcome in a classroom setting, but it is a necessary part of keeping a classroom running smoothly...when done well. Try these tips to make delivering consequences more effective and less frequent. In addition, try to keep consequences logical and predictable. When students choose to misbehave, the follow-up consequence should be something they're expecting and something they will recall next time they're tempted by "extra behaviors."
